Job Purpose

To implement, support, and enhance SAP Materials Management (MM) solutions by translating business requirements into effective system configurations, ensuring smooth procurement, inventory, and vendor management operations while supporting business users and maintaining system compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement, configure, and support the SAP MM module, including procurement, inventory management, and invoice verification processes.
• Analyze complex business requirements and provide appropriate SAP MM solutions; document functional and technical requirements clearly.
• Conduct business workshops and meetings to gather requirements related to purchasing, inventory control, vendor management, and material master data.
• Map business processes to SAP MM functionalities and recommend system enhancements or modifications to meet operational objectives.
• Perform system configuration, customization, testing, and validation of SAP MM processes.
• Identify system gaps, issues, and inefficiencies; recommend and implement corrective actions or workarounds.
• Manage configuration changes, transport requests, and emergency fixes for critical SAP MM issues.
• Prepare and maintain functional design documents, test scripts, user acceptance testing (UAT) support, and system documentation.
• Proactively identify opportunities for business process improvements and system optimization within SAP MM.
• Provide SAP MM consulting support for new implementations, enhancements, and ongoing production support activities.
• Act as a coordination point between business users, cross-functional SAP teams (FI, PP, SD), and the technical/ABAP team.
• Deliver ad-hoc user support and troubleshooting to ensure minimal disruption to business operations.
• Work independently and provide guidance or mentoring to junior team members as required.
• Modify SAP MM solutions based on user feedback and evolving business requirements.
• Ensure smooth operation of SAP MM applications and support system maintenance, data consistency, and backups in coordination with the BASIS team.
• Conduct end-user training and prepare training materials to ensure effective system utilization.
• Perform any other duties related to SAP MM and IT operations as assigned by management from time to time.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of SAP MM processes (Procurement, Inventory Management, Invoice Verification)
• Business process analysis and documentation skills
• Experience in SAP configuration, testing, and support
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently and handle high-priority issues
• Training and user support capability

Educational & Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, or relevant discipline
• 4+ years of experience in SAP MM implementation/support
