Job Purpose: To develop, implement, and manage the Learning & Development (L&D) strategy for IOL Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd. by building technical, behavioural, leadership, compliance, and regulatory capabilities across all functions. The role will ensure employee competency enhancement, GMP compliance, training effectiveness, and organizational capability development aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proficiency in collating TNI, scheduling annual training calendar (ATC) and its implementation as per timelines & development opportunities across all departments.
  • Develop and maintain competency-based learning frameworks for technical, functional and managerial roles.
  • Design and drive succession readiness and talent development initiatives aligned with organizational capability-building objectives.
  • Designing and coordinating employee training program, internal as well as external. Individual and team-based programs.
  • Ensure training management in buckets of – mandatory, functional, behavioural, compliance and skill enhancing training sessions.
  • Develop and monitor mandatory GMP, GDP, GLP, Data Integrity, EHS and regulatory training programs across Production, QA, QC, Engineering, Warehouse and support functions.
  • Ensure training compliance with GxP requirements and maintain audit-ready training records and competency documentation.
  • Ensure capturing of pre and post intervention scores. Conduct skill gap analysis to determine personnel needs and prepare skill matrix across functions.
  • Ensure no NCs in any of the audits, internal as well as external ( ISO, OSHAS, SA, EUGMP, USFDA, ABMS,IS, SMETA).
  • Coordinate and manage training preparedness for regulatory inspections including USFDA, MHRA, WHO-GMP, PMDA, TGA and other applicable regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain training matrices for all functions and ensure timely closure of training-related audit observations.
  • Ensure effectiveness on implementation of trainings through Kirkpatrick model/ Kaufman model of learning & and refine strategies.
  • Track training ROI, business impact and capability improvement metrics through periodic reviews and management dashboards.
  • Present monthly and quarterly Learning & Development performance dashboards to leadership.
  • Ensure effective onboarding induction of employees to help new hires rapidly adapt to their roles.
  • Develop role-based learning plans for new employees and monitor onboarding effectiveness through time-to-productivity and integration metrics.
  • Responsible for creating, collation and implementation of uniform training content, including SCORM and video-based learnings.
  • Design and drive technical capability-building programs covering Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Processes, API Operations, Quality Systems, Validation & Qualification, Data Integrity, Root Cause Analysis, CAPA, Lean Six Sigma and Operational Excellence.
  • Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to facilitate knowledge transfer and functional capability enhancement initiatives.
  • Oversee Learning Management Systems (LMS) to ensure e-learning courses and modules are accessible and up to date.
  • Monitor training compliance dashboards and drive automation of training records, reporting and learning analytics.
  • Promote self-learning, digital learning and micro-learning initiatives across the organization.
  • Ensure implementation of Individual development plan and career path options.
  • Ensure coordination and implementation of leadership assessment tools.
  • Ensure effective data management on key metrices on weekly, monthly, and yearly basis on milestone achieved/missed/way forward.
  • Proficient in managing PMS of employees on monthly basis, review on quarterly/annual basis and performance dialogue in SAP-SF and PMS.
  • Ensure implementation of policies and procedures up to last employee in the organisation.
  • Develop structured leadership and behavioural development programs covering People Management, Communication Skills, Emotional Intelligence, Problem Solving, Decision Making and Team Effectiveness.
  • Build future leadership pipelines through structured development journeys and talent acceleration initiatives.
  • Keep accurate documentation and performing statistical analysis.
  • Manage & forecast costs and set dialogue with external training providers and consultants.
  • Establish learning circles, knowledge-sharing forums and internal trainer certification programs to strengthen organizational learning culture.
  • Develop and maintain institutional knowledge repositories and SOP-based learning modules to ensure sustainable knowledge retention.

Technical: Required

High proficiency level: MS Office.

Communication skills: above average to excellent: in written as well as oral (English/Hindi).

Strong understanding of USFDA, WHO-GMP, MHRA, PIC/S guidelines, GxP requirements, Data Integrity and ALCOA+ principles.

Exposure to SAP SuccessFactors Learning Module (LMS) and PMGM modules.

 

Behavioural: Good interpersonal skills. Effective time and resource management.

 

Education/Experience:

Postgraduate in Management with minimum of 10-12 years of experience in manufacturing organisations specifically in Talent Management Interventions. Exposure working in APIs/ Pharmaceutical setup would be an added advantage.
